If you were given the option of receiving 10,000 pennies a day for a month or 1 penny on day one, and double the number each successive day (1, 2, 4, 8, etc.), you might be tempted to take the 10,000 a day. But you’d be short-changing yourself. After 30 days, the first adds up to 300,000, while the second ends up being over a billion!
This encouraging story exemplifies the mathematical power of exponential growth. The gospel goes out, not merely by addition, but by multiplication, as new disciples make more disciples. Stories like this never get old to me.
